Natural colourings
Natural colourings are obtained by physical or solvent extraction from recognised natural sources of fruit, vegetables and herbs. They are available in water-soluble or oil-soluble types and are produced in such a way that they are easily dispersible.
Natural colourings are used in food and, under certain circumstances, are also used in pet food. Natural colourings are highly sensitive to process and storage conditions, such as light, pH and temperature. As a result of this, when used in pet food, the required effect isn't always achieved.
