Poortershaven Industriële Mineralen B.V. was founded in 1973 as a trading company, its primary commercial activity being the import and sales of industrial minerals. Over the years, these clay and rock minerals and colour pigments have increasingly been used for agricultural purposes. In late 2013, Poortershaven sold its industrial activities. Since then, Poortershaven has specialised entirely in the use of clay and rock minerals and colour pigments in the agricultural and animal feed sectors.
Taking a personal approach, our sales team provides our customers with adviceabout the use of these special minerals for pet food, animal and soil health and animal bedding hygiene. We develop this know-how by working with reliable manufacturers who transfer their technical knowledge to us.

THINKING ALONG IN SOLUTIONS
As clay and rock minerals have a specific effect on animals and in the soil, this requires specialist knowledge. To keep this knowledge and our quality at a high level, we regularly have our products and their effects tested at laboratories, universities and reputable research organisations throughout the world.
Poortershaven is innovative and ensures that its products meet current legislation and regulations. Examples of this are: further reducing the use of antibiotics, reducing ammonia/nitrogen emissions, but also reducing the use of pesticides and (artificial) fertilisers in plant cultivation. We aim to offer customer-orientated solutions for the matters listed above, plus others.
FLEXIBLE DELIVERIES
As we have our own logistics department, we are able to offer flexible delivery services. One of our strengths is therefore to deliver products as agreed. We also believe it is important to realize the transport as green as possible. Therefore, for long distances, we transport our products by sea or rail whenever possible, with the lowest possible CO2 emissions per unit.

FREQUENT QUALITY CONTROL
The importance of high-quality products is paramount at Poortershaven. We achieve this through continuity and long-term cooperation with reliable suppliers.
All of our products which we supply to the animal feed and pet food industries comply with the GMP+ FSA guidelines. Our products are checked regularly for undesirable substances, such as heavy metals and dioxins. In addition to the GMP+ FSA certification, for our primary products, we are also Secure Feed registered and checked. In addition, a number of products are registered for organic agriculture in accordance with SKAL (Dutch organic inspection body)/FiBL (Research Institute of Organic Agriculture). This registration concerns the use of mineral products in the soil for the purpose of organic agriculture.
CERTIFIED PRODUCTS
Poortershaven employs a permanent quality manager who is responsible for all audits and quality forms. This employee keeps a close eye on legislation and regulations and is available to answer any questions concerning quality. The quality manager is also responsible for resolving any quality-related matters with our suppliers.
Poortershaven has been GMP+ FSA certified since 2001. This certificate is also exchangeable for the QS quality scheme (provided that the company is included in the database) (Ook in NL website opnemen) in Germany and the FAMI-QS quality and feed safety management system globally.
