Vermiculite E561 - Micron / Super fine
Vermiculite is a hydrated magnesium-iron-aluminium silicate (layered rock type, mica-like). The product is registered as a technological additive (E561) under the subgroup binders, anti-caking agents and coagulants. Due to its layered form, exfoliation of this rock type occurs when it is heated sufficiently, to form a soft harmonica-like material that can absorb a lot of moisture in between the scales. This means the product is perfect for absorbing liquids, enabling them to be transported dry (in bags).
